Our read
Here's the shape of last season: ten healthy weeks he didn't play, a first appearance in week 11, and 3.5 points a game across the 5 weeks he did suit up. He beat the position's weekly median exactly once. He never cleared 15 points in any of those five weeks, his worst was 1.5 in week 16, and his best was 7.5 in week 18. That's not a depth chart note, that's the whole picture of where he stood in this offense under the same coaching staff that's back for 2026.
The path ahead hasn't changed. Brenton Strange is first on the depth chart, Morris is fourth, and his 2025 snap share sat at 23.1%. He managed 6 touches and 55 receiving yards all season, TE85 and TE81 among 126 qualifying tight ends. The one usage number that flatters him, a 22.2% red-zone share of his own touches, comes on just 2 red-zone touches all year. His touchdown profile nets out to -0.7 points a game, so the scoring case actually works against him.
To his credit, the arrow moved: points per game up from 1.46 to 3.5, target share up from 1.7% to 6.4%. But that's climbing from the bottom of the barrel, and our projection has him at 31 points, TE95 on our board. He's 27.6 on opening day, a sixth-year undrafted tight end from the 2021 class, and JAX's own Vegas win total sits at 8.5. There's no ADP on file for him, which tells you drafters aren't spending a pick. Don't be the one who does. If Strange misses time, check back. Until then, let him go.
