Our read

The role is the whole story here. He's listed second among CIN quarterbacks behind Joe Burrow, which means the 56 points we project only show up if he plays, and our expected games number is 7 with a realistic range of 1 to 14. That range bottoms out at seasons cut short by injury, and at 41.6 years old in season number 19, you're drafting a fill-in, not a plan.

When he did play last year, it wasn't pretty. 11.1 points a game over 13 weeks, above the position's weekly median just 4 times, and a worst week of 0.16 in week 16. He cleared 15 points in only 4 of those 13 played weeks. His snap share fell from 96% in the first month to 32% down the stretch, so the team itself pulled him out of the role as 2025 went on. There's no reason to think 2026 looks different unless something happens to the guy ahead of him.

The upside case is thin but real: Burrow missed time before, CIN throws on 63% of situation-neutral plays, and Zac Taylor calls the plays himself. If the starter goes down, Flacco's weekly ceiling last year hit 28.8 in week 9. He also took 4 red-zone touches and 4 touches inside the ten, both top-15 among qualifying quarterbacks, so when he was on the field the staff did trust him near the goal line. That's the whole pitch, and it's a contingency, not a season.

At pick 350 he costs you nothing but a roster spot. I'd rather spend that last pick on a running back with a path. If you do take him, take him there and nowhere earlier.
