Our read
The reason to draft Makai Lemon is the situation he walked into, not anything he has put on tape yet. Philadelphia threw on 54% of situation-neutral plays last year, won 11 games, and Vegas has posted a 10.5 win total for them this season. A first-round pick at pick 20 landing in an offense that good and that pass-heavy is the whole case. Our number puts him at 136 points, and he goes around pick 108, so he is roughly a round later than he should be.
The honest snag is the depth chart, checked September 4th. He is listed third among PHI wideouts, behind DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, with Marquise Brown and Elijah Moore below him. Third on the list in week one is not a death sentence for a rookie, but it means the points have to come to him rather than being handed over. Watch the snap counts in the first month before you decide if he has cleared Wicks.
The downside that matters is games played. We project 15, with a realistic range of 9 to 17 once injury risk is in, and seasons that bottom out at 86 points are the ones cut short. That is the swing you accept. My call: take him at his ADP of about 108, or a few picks earlier if you believe a rookie third receiver in this offense becomes a starter by midseason. He is a roster-shaping pick, not a safe one.
