Our read
The depth chart is the whole case here. He's listed fifth in Carolina behind Tetairoa McMillan, Jalen Coker, Xavier Legette and John Metchie III, and the 2025 tape explains why: 18.9% snap share, a 6% target share, and 19 touches all season. His best week was 6.7 points and he beat the weekly median once in ten games. That's not a role you draft. He cleared 15 points in zero of his ten weeks last year, and the worst was 0.9 in week 8.
The crowded room costs him 0.9 points a game by our number, which is most of what a fifth receiver would ever give you. Even the way he's used hurts: 6.0 average depth of target and zero touches inside the ten, so his path to a spike week barely exists. Dave Canales and Brad Idzik are both back, so there's no new scheme reshuffling the targets in his favor either. Carolina's own win total this season is 7.5, so the books don't expect game scripts that force this offense to open up.
Our number has him at 35 points with most outcomes between 19 and 52, and it expects him to play 12 games, with a realistic range of 5 to 17 once injury risk is in. Drafters take him around pick 365, so he's free at the end of a draft if you want him. But I'd rather spend that pick on a backfield flier with a clearer path. He's a waiver-watch name in year two. If Coker or Legette misses time early, that's the moment to revisit him, not now.
