Our read
Cooper Rush is not a draft pick, he is a free-agent stash on your watchlist. He sits third on the ATL depth chart behind Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix Jr., and we project him for 39 points across about 5 expected games, with a realistic range of 0 to 13 once you account for the chance he never sees the field at all. Even the middle of that range is backup-quarterback scoring.
The reason to ignore him in drafts is the year he just had. He played 3 of 17 games in 2025 and all 3 were healthy scratches turned spot starts, 2.1 points total, averaging 0.7 points a game, and his points per game fell from 8.96 in 2024 to 0.71. The 2024 season, 107.6 points over 12 games and QB32, is the only recent reason his name is still in the pool, and it is two years old by now.
The case for him starting any games at all is thin. New head coach Kevin Stefanski and play caller Tommy Rees did not bring him in to start, and ATL went 8 wins last year with a win total at 7.5, so this is a hold-the-clipboard job unless injuries hit. His name never hit an injury report all of 2025 either, those other 14 weeks were healthy weeks he simply did not play. No ADP on file tells you the league agrees.
So the call: do not draft him at any pick. If Penix or Tua goes down, grab him off waivers then.
