Our read
The reason he is on this page at all is Jaxson Dart. Winston is listed second among NYG quarterbacks, and our projection, 37 season points, is mostly a bet that Dart misses time and Winston gets a few starts. The sheet expects 5 games with a realistic range of 0 to 12, which tells you how much of this rests on someone else getting hurt.
When he did play last year, it was weird and occasionally fun. Three appearances, 14.5 points a game, a 32.34-point week 12, and receiving numbers that led all qualifying quarterbacks despite a 1.6% target share. Average depth of target was 13.0 yards, best at the position among 10 qualifying quarterbacks, so even the gadget work was live downfield. He was a gadget piece, not a starter, and 14 healthy weeks he did not play in 2025 say the staff never saw him as the answer. The 2024 line, 123.1 points over 11 games, is the last time he got real work.
The real downside is the low end of that 0 to 12 game range, seasons cut short by injury, and the plain fact that a new staff in town may never hand him a start at all. His team's own Vegas win total sits at 7.5, so game script may not hand him many comfortable leads either. He is going around pick 350, which is a dart throw, not a draft pick. In a one-QB league let him go. If you take Dart in the later rounds and can carry two quarterbacks, this is the only version of him worth a bench spot, and even then I would rather have a week 1 starter's backup.
