Our read
This is a backup quarterback note, so let's be clear about what he is. Jordan Love is first on the GB depth chart, and Taylor is listed second. He only matters if Love misses time, which is why our number sits at 35 points on an expected 5 games. Even the best case in his realistic range, around 12 games, only helps if you're stashing insurance behind Love. Drafters have it right, taking him around pick 365, basically the last pick of a deep league draft.
The reason we expect so few games is his own history. Last year he played 6 of 17 and the season ended after week 14 with a groin injury that kept him on the report from week 15 on. That follows 2 games in 2024 and 10 in 2023, four of those missed to injury. He's 37 on opening day in year 16. Even when he played last season he was ordinary, 9.9 points a game and above the position's weekly median in just 2 of 6 weeks, with a -1.76 clunker in week 14. His best week was 21.38 back in week 13. If Love does go down, he'd at least land in an offense where Matt LaFleur calls the plays himself and GB passed on 51% of situation-neutral plays last season, behind a team the books posted at 9.5 wins.
If you want a late QB stash behind Love, he's a name you can take with your final pick and forget until you need him. Otherwise let him go, and grab someone with a live week one role instead.
